Meet the Doctors

R. Joe Weaver, O.D.

Dr. Weaver is a Vienna, WV native and graduate of Parkersburg Community College and WV University, with a Doctor of Optometry degree from the Southern College of Optometry. His early externships concentrated on diseases of the eye, contact lenses and cataract surgery.

An active sports enthusiast and avid outdoorsman, he is sensitive to the effect of vision limitations in the activities of daily living and committed to reducing or eliminating those limitations.

Deeply involved in community activities that promote both children and sports, Dr. Weaver serves on the Vienna Recreation Committee, the Jackson Park Board and the United Appeal Board.

He was the chairman of the “Light the Fields” project that provided lighting for four youth baseball/soccer fields and was proud to be selected to examine athletes for the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta Georgia.

Dr. Weaver has been practicing at the Vienna Eye Clinic since 1986, is married and the father of two sons.

Lana Mohr, O.D.

Originally from Slidell, Louisiana, Lana Mohr has been practicing in Vienna, WV, since 1988. As a Summa cum laude graduate of the Southern College of Optometry, a Gold Key Optometric Honor Society member and a Beta Sigma Kappa Optometric Honor Fraternity member, she has built her practice on both strong academic qualifications and a personal commitment to clinical excellence.

Dr. Mohr is particularly interested in new developments in contact lenses, especially bifocal contacts. Always current with the newest research and approaches in vision care, she maintains active membership in the West Virginia Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association.

The mother of two herself, she has a strong interest in the successful treatment of children’s vision issues. She and her husband, Dr. Weaver purchased the Vienna Eye Clinic in 1989.

A proponent of physical fitness and community involvement, Dr. Mohr is a past president of and serves on the Board of Directors of the Parkersburg YMCA and is a member and past President of Altrusa, a women’s service organization.

Michael Manzo, O.D.

Born and raised in Parkersburg West Virginia, Dr. Manzo served in the US Air Force, Strategic Air Command in Montana before opening his private practice in Parkersburg in 1970.

He left his successful practice on Dudley Avenue to join the Vienna Eye Clinic in 1994. A genial “people person”, he has a comfortable, relaxed approach that makes him a favorite of adult clientele.

As an over 60, long-term glasses-wearer himself, he is familiar with and successful at treating the challenges of vision changes that accompany aging.

A busy family man and enthusiastic golfer, he believes that vision problems should not interfere with an active lifestyle. He is a long time member of both the West Virginia Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association.

Dr. Manzo attends all of the football games as the on-site eye doctor for the players of Parkersburg High School.
